GYM JONES First Degree Instructor (FDI) Preperation Workshop

This is a fantastic opportunity to learn the finer points of technique, specific to your training that will not only prepare you for the exclusive upcoming Gym Jones Certification, but will give the progressive Strength Coach, lay fitness warrior and Dinosaur Trainee the tools to rip through training plateaus and train with like minded individuals.
No fancy gimmicks, no quick fix solutions, just high quality information and practical tools from leading UK Coaches that practice what they preach, and have the experience and knowledge to back it up. This 5 hour workshop is a B.S free zone as we strip it down to the bare basics. Here's what is covered;
Workshop 1: Deadlift As a Functional Movement with Chet Morjaria

Chet Morjaria is the Founder and Director of FK.UK (www.FuncKey.co.uk) - an organisation dedicated to advancing functional fitness in the UK through collaborative education and events.
As a strength & conditioning coach With a background in tennis, he is fascinated by the interplay between specific sport and general functional fitness training. He spends most of his time spreading the word of functional fitness, and particularly loves to extol the virtues of picking heavy things up off the ground (and putting them overhead), specialising in the deadlift. He is a qualified British Weightlifting Association Instructor and plans to spend the rest of this year progressing up the BWLA coaching ladder, whilst also being involved in more specific courses and workshops to feed his passion for learning.
He is particularly interested in sports nutrition and spends a large amount of his spare time reading or ‘experimenting’ in sports nutrition….eating! Chet is sponsored by sports nutrition company Boditronics (www.boditronics.co.uk)
Workshop 2: Calistenics: Utilising Your Bodyweight for Peak Performance
with Andy "Iron Man" McKenzie

An experienced trainer and UKSCA accredited strength and conditioning coach, Andy McKenzie brings not only a breadth and depth of experience, but a stimulating and invigorating approach.
Active in the Army for 16 years, spending his time as a member of the Airborne Forces and operational soldier. He has 5 years as an exercise rehabilitation specialist.
Andy excelled by recently winning his weight category in the FKUK Strength and Power Meet and dominating the field, he is one of a handful of conditioning coaches who truly walk the talk.
Since leaving the Army and after working in professional sport, he has achieved his ultimate goal in opening a day spa combined with a ‘real’ training studio and is concentrating on his passion of delivering strength and conditioning to individuals in a variety of disciplines from a paralympian downhill skier, a rising star of Welsh rugby to an MMA fighter and the first ever amputee trekking to the North Pole.
He is currently a part of Team Sub Armour as a sponsored athlete as well as maintaining ties with the military, consulting for elite forces in their rehabilitation. Andy lives by the words- “All achievement is the triumph of persistence”.
Workshop 3: Kettlebell Clinic: Clean & Jerk - Sustaining Your Work Capacity
with Cj Swaby

Cj Swaby is one of the founding member of CJS Fitness, and the Fighters Development Program (FDP). He has over 16 years personal experience in Strength & Conditioning, combined with over 10 years industry experience.
He has been at the forefront of Kettlebells in the UK for the past five years and has taught nationally and internationally, delivering Kettlebell Courses with the IKFF, London Kettlebells, plus authoring and delivering two kettlebell courses.
His own pursuits include combat sports (he is also a boxing coach), martial arts, long distance running and more recently Parkour. He believes in physical improvement and self empowerment, and will spread the gospel of good health and training whenever he can.
Workshop 4: Squat Therapy: Master Your Movement For Freakish Strength
with Sabina Skala

An integral part of CJS Fitness Coach Sabina Skala is the one responsible for making the landamark event of the Gym Jones FDI London 2010 happen. Having been accepted and invited to train at Gym Jones in Utah, she believed that what they had to offer in terms of Strength & Conditioning knowledge should be made accisible for a dedicated few.She has completed Gym Jones educational seminar in 2007 and has trained with Gym Jones on several occasions since.
Coach Skala has got a numerous years of training experience both as an athlete and a coach. Her competitive background in sport, having competed for many years in various kayak championships on national and international level for her native Poland.
Over the years Sabina has worked with amateur and professional athletes improving their performance, also bringing back to function post surgery clients. Certified MMA SCC, her main area of interest is conditioning for combat sports . Sabina Skala is an integral part of the the Fighters Development programme, partnered by CJSFitness, Balance Physiotherapy, and Sport Mental - Promoting and developing young fighters into future champions.
What's Involved In The Training Day
Each intensive workshop lasts one hour with a 15 minute break before you crack on with the next one. You will learn great tips and achieve practical ways of improving your performance and quality of movement that will take your training to another level.
There is a challenge at the end of each workshop so that you can practically apply the principles learned in each one, with prizes and give aways. The winners will be entered into the final challenge the infamous Gym Jones 300 Work out. Here's what you can win
